Thank you for your interest in presenting at the 2024 U.S. Conference on Poverty and Basic Needs.

The 2024 U.S. Conference on Poverty and Basic Needs will be a three day, in-person event. About half of our sessions will be hybrid and include virtual attendees. (NDBN staff will manage tech and additional staff support for these sessions).  Speakers using this form may request virtual or in-person presentation mode. If you have questions about how we will format either mode (interactive workshop, hybrid, pre-recorded presentation followed by live discussion, etc.), please email Susan@diaperbanknetwork.org with information about your presenting experience and subject expertise.

This submission form is straightforward, but the pre-work is important. We ask that you spend adequate time developing your session idea before submitting it.

Sessions must address poverty and basic needs.  Sessions that help nonprofit and community leaders address diaper need and period poverty will be prioritized. Conference attendees are most interested in professional development, nonprofit leadership, and research findings or other information that will help them advance their mission.  
What to Expect After Submitting

Proposals go through multiple internal reviews, so you may be contacted for more information about your proposal. If you submit a proposal after April 1, you will receive a receipt confirmation email and the final decision will be made by June 30th. Presentations will be accepted on a rolling basis. Feel free to inquire at at any time. Due to the schedule structure and experience our attendees have come to expect, we cannot accept every proposal, but we can keep proposals on file for consideration for other events. If your proposal is accepted, NDBN staff will assist you through the preparation process (i.e. provide insight on our conference attendees, review your slides, suggest activities, schedule a tech-check if needed, and more).

Dates to Know
  • April 24: Round 1 Notifications for proposals submitted will be sent out.
  • May 22:  Conference registration opens.
  • June 30: Final Round of Notifications for proposals submitted will be sent out.
  • September 6: Draft presentation slides or outline must be submitted.
  • October 4: All final slides and digital handouts must be submitted. 
Additional time-sensitive notifications may be sent regarding your travel plans, hotel reservations, and 3-day conference registration, as appropriate.
